How did you get started in the Hair industry?
I always knew I wanted to be a hair stylist. I have photos back when I was three years old clipping hairpieces in my dads hair while he was sleeping. I would go with my grandmother to the salon and organize the stylists stations just to check out all of their tools. When I was 16 I started looking at different cosmetology schools. I choose Paul Mitchell the School in RI. From there I went into runway hair and makeup working with a few different designers. I then settled down and opened my first salon in Central Connecticut, while still dabbling in runway work styling hair for New York fashion week. After that I opened a second location in Naples, Florida.

What are your 3 must-have hair products?

  • Oribe Supershine Moisturizing Cream
  • Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray
  • Oribe Thick Dry Finishing Spray

If you could have dinner with one person living or deceased, whom would it be?
Marilyn Monroe (I love all things old Hollywood)

What’s your current favorite hair trend?
    Lived in Blonde hair

If you could style one celebrity’s hair, who would it be?
Blake Lively, I've wanted to get my hands on her hair since her Gossip Girl days! Love her.

    Describe a typical day-in-your life?
I'm a busy mom of three! A typical day in the life usually includes the beach, homeschooling my kids, installing some hand tied extensions, & responding to messages/emails. (With plenty of waisted time scrolling instagram for inspiration)

What’s the one habit everyone can do to get better/healthier hair?
Diet! Make sure your body is getting the proper nutrients it needs to produce strong healthy hair. I'm a firm believer that the health of your hair is a direct reflection of what's happening inside your body.

Do you have an inspiring female role models or mentors?
I have so many! What I've learned from them as a whole is to have a strong work ethic and a positive attitude. This took some time to learn but has been life changing. Look for the positive in every situation. Crazy overbooked 12+ hour day...you can stress about it and be negative or be thankful for the blessing of being so busy and get it done. Always stay positive and things will move in a positive direction!

Do you have any tips for artists starting out in the industry?
Become an assistant! I think every stylist should assist for 1-2 years after school. Find a stylist/salon you mesh well with and soak up everything you can from them. Ask questions, be super helpful, you will learn so much and in turn become super successful.

What do you do to feel more inspired?
I set goals, the skys the limit. When I reach one goal I check it off the list and its on to the next goal. This keeps me always inspired and moving upwards.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Fake it till you make it! I learned this at the Paul Mitchell school. If you don't know how to do something or the answer to a question figure it out and do it with a smile on. You're smarter and better than you think.

What’s been your proudest moment in the industry?
Being asked to work backstage at New York Fashion week. It was on my bucket list.

What would be your career path in another life?
If I could clone myself I would be a General Contractor and flip/design houses. I've done this a few times before. I think of it as the ultimate transformation. Seeing the completed project gives me a similar feeling to completing a major color/extension transformation. Its super rewarding.

What is your favorite Bombshell Extensions Co product?
    Hand tied extensions for sure!
